The Amazing Spider-Man 2 [Film Trailer]

Now that the first one is out of the way, they can have some fun with the franchise. I don't know if throwing a whole lot of villains is the way to do it, but at least Electro will be interesting.

Muhammad Ali on Perseverance

I hated every minute of training, but I said, 'Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.'
-- Muhammad Ali (1942 - ).  World Champion.  The Greatest.

Recap for Week 8 of 2014 (Omnibus VIII 2014)

- Meet Mr. "Sonny" Bright, Jr. Dedicated bodybuilder. Winner at bodybuilding competitions. Absolutely shredded. 70 years old. That last part doesn't matter much.

- So clumsy. At least that pig pen looked comfy.

- I'd rather go up Shanghai Tower like these two guys than drop out of a plane like that camera.  I would puke though, either way.

- On second thought, maybe the camera had it right.  That pig pen did look comfy.

- Cacti never looked this good.

- That's all for this week.  Appreciate the little things.

Sabotage [Film Trailer]

I was expecting another action romp like the other films Schwarzenegger's made since being governor, but the minds behind Training Day and End of Watch were able to offer a pretty compelling cop/heist/noir flick.

Recap for Week 7 of 2014 (Omnibus VII 2014)

- Valentine's Day passed.  Hope there were no missed connections.  Or maybe you should just let it go.

- A screening of Wolf of Wall Street in Wall Street garnered a sadly cliche reaction from the boys of Wall Street.

- Jaden Newman is in 4th grade and she breaks ankles styles on plays on a high school basketball team.

- Keep your shirts fresh, fellas.  Can I borrow someone's hair straightener?

- Imagine Archie Bunker as the Skipper on Gilligan's Island? Listen, he doesn't have a thing against redheads, he just doesn't want them on his island.

- Dale Hansen makes the (obvious) case for why Michael Sam being gay isn't the NFL's biggest personnel issue.

- The Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System in the Mojave Desert has gone live.  It does a good job of powering 140,000 homes, as well as prepping birds for dinner.

- That's all for this week.  Be good to each other.

Samuell Beckett on Failure

Warriors [Fan Trailer]

Please let this become a movie.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier [Film Trailer]

I can't shill Brubaker's Winter Soldier story enough.  He made me pick up Captain America for the first time.  This trailer does its job of setting up the bad guys, the good guys, and the general story.  Can't wait for April.

Recap for Week 6 of 2014 (Omnibus VI 2014)

- The 2014 Winter Olympics have started.  NY Times imagines what New York City would look like if they bid (and won) the Winter Olympics instead of the 2012 Summer Olympics.

- With spring break coming around, an important lesson for college students is that there's someone always having more sex than you.  So you do you.  Literally or whatever.

- Don't everyone jump at once.  Because nothing would happen.  Nothing that couldn't be corrected anyway.

- Why all the interest in Colorado for the 420 mile markers?

- A fan made comic about how Superman did such a good job saving people, that he now has to save a world.  Hire this man, DC.

- King of the Heating Pad.

- That's it for this week.  Have a Happy Valentine's Day. You're awesome.

Heraclitus on Change

“No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man.”
-- Heraclitus (c. 535 – c. 475 BCE)
